Terms1. Applicability These Terms and Conditions apply to all members, participants, and visitors of Pound for Pound Scheveningen participating in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ), fitness programs, open mats, or any related academy activities. 2. Registration & Membership Personal & Non-transferable: Memberships are personal and cannot be shared or transferred. Enrollment: Registration takes place on-site or via www.ubuntubjj.nl. A complete and truthful intake/health declaration must be submitted prior to the first session. Refusal of Service: The academy reserves the right to refuse admission or terminate membership if health risks or safety concerns are identified. 3. Payments, Renewals & Cancellations Automatic Renewal: Unless purchasing a single drop-in pass, all memberships automatically renew on a monthly basis via direct debit after the initial contract term. Notice Period: A standard one full calendar month notice period applies. To cancel, members must submit a cancellation form at the academy or send an email to info@ubuntubjj.nl before the 1st day of the month. End Date Calculation: Upon receiving cancellation before the 1st of the month, membership remains active until the end of that subsequent calendar month. Training access continues through the 31st (or last day) of that cancellation month. Failed Payments: If a direct debit collection fails, a subsequent attempt will be made. If payment remains outstanding, an administrative fee of €10.00 will apply per reminder. Training access may be paused until the balance is settled. Refunds: Paid membership fees are non-refundable. Price Adjustments: Rates may be indexed annually on January 1st, with members receiving at least 3 months' advance written notice. 4. Illness & Injury (Pause Policy) In cases of documented medical injury or severe illness preventing participation, memberships can be paused for a minimum of 1 month upon written request to info@ubuntubjj.nl. Pauses cannot be requested retroactively. 5. Schedule & Academy Closures Pound for Pound Scheveningen reserves the right to adjust timetables, instructors, and opening hours. The academy may close during official Dutch public holidays or for maintenance. Temporary closures under 24 hours do not warrant a refund or fee reduction. 6. Liability & Safety Personal Risk: BJJ is a physical contact sport involving inherent risks. Participation is entirely at the member's own risk. The academy, coaches, and staff are not liable for any physical injury, property loss, or damage incurred on the premises, except in cases of proven gross negligence or willful misconduct. Belongings: Members are solely responsible for their personal property. 7. Media, Photos & Videos The academy regularly captures photos and videos during training sessions for promotional use on www.ubuntubjj.nl and official social media channels. If you do not wish to appear in promotional material, notify the administration at info@ubuntubjj.nl and inform the instructor on the mat. 8. Applicable Law These terms and conditions are governed exclusively by the laws of the Netherlands.
